photoZÜRICH is Switzerland’s largest exhibition dedicated to photography. In 2008 I generously received a grant from the Association of Swiss Professional Photographers and Film Creators (SBF) to exhibit at the annual event that showcased work from over 120 mostly professional photographers. The exhibition took place at the Maag Event Hall in Zurich and ran from December 27–30.
These nine photographs are from a larger series taken over the course of a season at the SommerTheater Winterthur (founded in 1865). Thanks to director Hans Heinrich Rüegg, and with the support of the stage actors themselves, I was able to shadow the production from behind the scenes during the run of the theater’s German adaptation of Joseph Kesselring’s 1941 play Arsenic and Old Lace (Arsen und Spitzenhäubchen).
