Residency at Kunsthuis SYB

In December 2012, the six co-curators of the exhibition Bourgeois Leftovers – Karima Boudou, Kari Cwynar, Angela Jerardi, Srajana Kaikini, Florencia Portocarrero, and I – were invited on a residency at Kunsthuis SYB in Beetsterzwaag, a village in the east of Friesland in the Netherlands, in order to write our concept. 

While there, the six of us also went to visit the site of American artist Robert Smithson’s 1971 land art Broken Circle / Spiral Hill in Emmen, works that were originally made for Sonsbeek ’71.
